But literally one hour later, the bug is back. ![]() Once I did that, I tested Acrobat by opening 15+ consecutive PDF files as fast as I could click and IT WORKED!! I thought I found the solution. The only thing that seemed to help was the complete uninstall and reinstall. I have tried all the online solutions regarding security preferences, making sure my "general" preferences are configured a certain way, and I have tried using the Acrobat Cleaner to completely uninstall and reinstall Acrobat Pro DC. As part of my job, I am constantly opening and closing PDFs, so adding 10 seconds 100 times per day is completely unacceptable. I just tested opening 15+ consecutive PDF files in Chrome, Edge, and SumatraPDF and they all open instantly, like Acrobat used to. This never happened with Acrobat until about a week ago. This problem is also happening on my laptop. ![]() When I click to open a PDF from my hard drive, Acrobat Pro's CPU usage jumps to 100%, and the machine hangs for about 10 seconds. The problem started about a week ago, and it is happening both on my desktop and my laptop. I have been using Acrobat Pro DC since it first came out with no such problems.
